Kadukkara Thiruvananthapuram


Kadukkara is a locality situated around 6 km south of Vellarada in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The place lies in Kerala – Tamil Nadu border and is just 20 km from Nagercoil. Kadukkara is the end point of the 37.5 km long State Highway 3 (SH 3) Kerala which starts from Nedumangad Toll junction.

Important tourist places in and near Kadukkara include the Vaikundam Estate, Kalimala Temple and Thekkan Kurisumala or Kurisumala Pilgrim Center. Thriparappu Waterfalls is around 8 km from here.

Pirappancode Thiruvananthapuram


Pirappancode is a scenic village situated in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. The place is around 22 km north of Trivandrum in Kottarakara Road. Pirappancode is located between Venjaramoodu and Vembayam.

The major attraction of the place is the Pirappancode International Aquatic Complex, first of its kind in Kerala and second in India. Pirappancode Swimming Pool was managed by Kerala State Sports Council.

UIT Pirappancode or the University Institute of Technology started function here in 1995.

Pirappancode Sree Krishna Swamy Temple and Pirappancode Devi Temple are the important temples in the place.

St. Johns Health Services Hospital in Pirappancode is run by Syro Malankara Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Church of Trivandrum.

Vamanapuram River passes through the area.

Vellayani Junction Trivandrum


Vellayani Junction in Trivandrum is a locality situated between Karakkamandapom and Nemom. The junction is located in Trivandrum – Kanyakumari National Highway NH 47.

Vellayani Junction is the main bus stop to reach Vellayani Devi Temple, around 3 km away. The locality is named after the famous Bhadrakali Temple. Merry Land Studio Road connects Vellayani junction with Thrikkanapuram and Thirumala. Shantivila, Plankalamukku, Poozhikunnu and Trikkanapuram are other nearby surrounding places.

Merry Land Studios, one of the oldest movie studios in Kerala, is located half a kilometre from the junction. Venus Engineering Works, one of the oldest cycle parts manufacturing company, is within walk-able distance.

Thaliyadichapuram Shiva Temple, Elipikkal Bhagavathy Temple and Juma Masjid are the main religious places.

Pazhavangadi East Fort Trivandrum


Pazhavangadi is located in the heart of Thiruvanathapuram city near East Fort (Kizhakkekotta). The place is noted for Pazhavangadi Maha Ganapathy Temple dedicated to Sri Mahaganapathy. The place was once a fruit market and hence the name. In Malayalam language Pazham means fruit and Angadi means Market.

Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Kuthiramalika Palace are the important landmarks nearby. Pazhavangadi is surrounded by the places Sreevaraham, Attakulangara and Palkulangara.
